Director & Creative Strategist – Brand Spanking, NZ
Mark has an unrivalled background in brand experience, events, and sponsorship. For almost 30 years he has worked on the world's biggest brands and events; creating, planning and delivering award-winning activations globally.
In the UK and Europe, he worked client side with drinks giant Diageo in their youth marketing team before consulting with the leading agencies in the region as Creative Strategist. Highlights included award-winning campaigns with Samsung, Diageo brands and Coca-Cola.
On his return to NZ, he went about setting up his own shop, FLUXX: Ideas in Motion which launched in 2007. Winning Vodafone as their key first client, FLUXX worked with some of NZ's leading brands and their agencies - collecting multiple awards along the way.
In 2015 FLUXX merged with fellow experiential leaders Brand Spanking to form one of the largest and most dynamic agencies in this field in Australasia. In 2017 Brand Spanking picked up a Beacon Media Award and NZ Marketing Award for their client BCITO’s ‘Not Your Average Shed’ campaign and continue to work with other brands including Huawei, Asahi, GSK, L’Oreal, Pepsi, Nespresso, Subaru and Logitech.
As digital, mobile, social and experiential converge, Mark has been at the forefront of using these channels to amplify experiential campaigns and create content, working with the top social media app, AR and VR developers in NZ to deliver the latest event tech-based campaigns.
He is a passionate evangelist for the industry as a founding member and chair of the Communications Council of NZ's PR, Social and Experiential Committee and the Experiential Marketing Association of NZ. He has regulalry been selected as a senior judge at industry awards, including the Effies, AXIS and Beacon Media Awards as well as the NZ Marketing Awards.
Mark also lectures and runs regular workshops and seminars globally on experiential marketing, events and sponsorship.
