Mark Bowling is a senior marketer and strategist with over 20 years’ experience and a passion for creative insights, data-focused solutions and delivering business impacting campaigns. He has conceived award-winning work for top international brands in the U.K., the U.S. and Asia and has been praised for his insightful business sense and approach to ‘creative pragmatism’ in solving client problems.
Armed with a post-grad in Advertising, Mark started out his career in London’s full-service agencies (Ogilvy, Lintas, DDB) as a strategist and comms planner for Ford, Amex, Guinness, Cisco and Nestle, and earned a Cannes Media Lion for his work on Unilever.
Mark then became a regional then a global strategy head at Starcom MediaVest Group, moving to Singapore then New York then back to Singapore, and led award winning work for Samsung and helped deliver tangible results for clients such as Wendy’s, Kraft Foods, General Motors and Diageo. In 2012, he switched to a general management role for APAC at IPG, focusing on Microsoft, J&J, Coca-Cola, Exxon Mobil, MasterCard, and Sony before becoming a marketing consultant for global MNCs.
In 2016, Mark moved to Shanghai to lead strategy for PHD China and within three years steered the agency’s strategic and insight product to global success, twice being named Best in Show at the global MMA Smarties, twice named Asia Media Agency of the Year by Mumbrella as well as Campaign’s China Media Agency of the Year in 2018.
