Elena Klau leads the strategy, measurement, research and analytics teams at Momentum, working across all of the agency’s clients, including American Express, the U.S. Army, William Grant & Sons, Coca-Cola and more. As strategy lead, Klau has been instrumental in helping Momentum win the industry’s largest pitches, including in recent years wins of United Airlines, Verizon and SAP, all powered by the potential of data.
In 2017 Elena was named to the SportsBusiness Journal’s annual “Forty Under 40” list, celebrating young executives in the sports and sports marketing industries who are making significant impacts. She has also been listed in the Path to Purchase Institute’s annual “Who’s Who in Shopper Marketing” list every year since 2012. Klau has published numerous pieces in AdWeek and Admap and has been an invited speaker at conferences like Social Media Week, EventTech and the Fast Company Innovation Festival.
Klau joined Momentum in 2011 with 10+ years of market and academic research experience, bringing both qualitative and quantitative marketing research experience and specializing in measurement and analytics across events, sponsorships, promotions and shopper marketing. Upon joining the agency, she reinvented Momentum’s research team and approach, creating data-led innovations, and helped fuel Momentum’s transformational shifts toward being a leader in strategic consultation.
Prior, at Kaleidoscope Sports & Entertainment, her clients encompassed numerous brands including General Motors, with whom she helped to develop a statistical software and analytics tool centered on analyzing and predicting the efficacy of their sponsorships. In 2006, she joined the Gerson Lehrman Group as an analyst.
A graduate of Dartmouth College, she achieved an M.A. in International Relations & Quantitative Studies at George Washington University. In addition, she holds an M.B.A. in Marketing and Statistics from Columbia University.
